For the first time, cellulose insulation with proven fire-protection function in industrial timber construction.
Cellulose has convinced for decades through excellent building-physics properties such as thermal protection, summer heat protection, moisture behaviour and sustainability. With easyfloc protect, a process has been developed for the first time in which the standard insulants isofloc LM and isofloc eco achieve a fire-protection function through the addition of a specially developed binder.
In a fire, the insulation remains within the cavity between the load-bearing structure. Combined with the controlled charring of the cellulose, an effective fire protection is created, eliminating the need to design for three-sided burn-through of the cavity.
With easyfloc protect, a sustainable and nature-based loose-fill insulation reaches parity for the first time with mineral fire-protection insulants such as rock wool with melting points above 1000 °C. For this development, isofloc was awarded the HOLZ Innovation Prize.

isofloc LM or isofloc eco cellulose insulation is blown fully and homogeneously into the assembly at a defined density of around 60 kg/m³.
2.
During the blow-in process, the specially developed binder is mixed evenly into the insulant at a dosage of around 6 %. This bonds the cellulose fibres to each other in a targeted way.
3.
After drying, the cellulose fibres cross-link directly within the assembly into a form-stable insulation structure.
easyfloc protect integrates modularly into existing plants – from manual application to automated manufacturing. The plant combines precise dosing, weighing-cell monitoring and sequential control.

Pressure hoses lead in a targeted way to the inlet ports. Via integrated spray nozzles, the defined liquid quantity is dosed precisely and distributed evenly into the material flow – controlled per blow-in port.

The 600-litre tank is dimensioned for around 80 m³ of cavity volume. Weighing cells continuously monitor the liquid quantity added and ensure reproducible, traceable dosing.
Let's talk about easyfloc protect in your project. We'll show you how to integrate the process into your production.
The fire-protection function of easyfloc protect was tested in 2024 at the Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology). In the cube test under real fire conditions, the insulation structure remained form-stable within the assembly – traceably documented and independently validated.
